A | GROOMING ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

Health Requirements

• All dogs must be in good health. Grooming of sick, elderly, or pregnant dogs is at the owner’s risk.
• All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations. We reserve the right to request proof of vaccination.
• Owner must disclose all pre-existing health conditions, allergies, and behavioural issues before grooming begins.
• We do not accept dogs under sedation for grooming under any circumstances.

Behaviour Requirements

• We reserve the right to refuse service to dogs displaying aggressive behaviour that may endanger our staff or themselves.
• Additional charges may apply for dogs requiring extra time due to nervous or challenging behaviour.
• For safety reasons, owners must remain out of sight during the grooming process.
  
  

B | GROOMING POLICIES

Matted Coat Policy

• We maintain a strict no de-matting policy for heavily matted coats to prevent pain and suffering.
• Matted coats will be shaved to remove damaged fur, with an additional charge applied.
• Shaving may expose underlying skin conditions for which Fur Buddys cannot be held responsible.
• Matted coats can cause skin irritations, infections, and other health problems.

Flea Policy

• Dogs found with fleas will receive a flea treatment bath at an additional charge.
• Owners will be advised to treat both their pet and home environment.

Grooming Standards

• We will groom according to owner specifications as discussed during consultation, but animal welfare will always take priority over specific styling requests.
• Minor style adjustments can be requested immediately after grooming completion.
  
  

C | APPOINTMENT POLICIES

• Appointments cancelled or re-scheduled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged for in full.
• We plan our route according to geographic location – it is very challenging to make last minute changes or find replacements at short notice
• Appointments may be split for dogs requiring additional time due to behaviour or coat condition.
  
  

D | LIABILITY LIMITATIONS

Injury and Health Issues

• By accepting these terms, owners acknowledge that grooming may expose pre-existing health conditions.
• Fur Buddys shall not be held liable for any injury or health issue that occurs during grooming unless directly caused by gross negligence.
• In emergency situations, we reserve the right to seek veterinary care for your dog, with all costs being the owner’s responsibility.
• Any nicks or cuts that may occur during the process of removing matted fur are not the responsibility of Fur Buddys.

Payment and Charges

• Payment is due upon completion of grooming services.
• Additional charges may apply for:
  • Removal of matted coats
  • Flea treatments
  • Extended grooming time due to behaviour issues
  • Additional services requested during appointment

Media Release

• Owner grants permission for photographs of their dog to be used on Fur Buddys’ website, social media, and marketing materials.

Code of Conduct

• Abusive language or behaviour toward staff will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of service.
  
  

E | ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By engaging Fur Buddys’ services, the owner acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions, and releases Fur Buddys from liability except in cases of gross negligence.

Fur Buddys reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
